Description
Study Plans for the Classic Non-Pareil Sharpie MINOCQUA, re-designed as a modern cruising Yawl.
The famous Thomas Clapham yacht MINOCQUA was known to be very fast, and won so many races that she was banned.
But she was also sea-worthy, and was a noted cruiser. To make her more comfortable for contemporary sailors, I have designed several versions with comfortable headroom and superior creature comforts.
The hull is “deadrise” — having a Vee-bottom hullform, with flaring topsides. I include the original “Roslyn Yawl” sail plan, as well as a modernized version which will be more user friendly.
Construction is full-sheet plywood, as all surfaces are “developable.” She can also be built in aluminum or steel.
